Official: Luzales buys 2 out of 3 IKEA plants in Russia

ST. PETERSBURG, Feb 16 (PRIME) -- Komi Republic-based cut timber producer Luzales has acquired two plants of Swedish furniture and home accessories producer IKEA, a spokesperson for the region’s governor told PRIME on Thursday.

“Luzales has acquired two IKEA plants in Russia – in the city of Tikhvin and in the city of Vyatka,” the spokesperson said without elaborating.

Earlier in the day, Izvestia daily reported quoting State Secretary and Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Viktor Yevtukhov that the government’s commission had approved a sale of three IKEA plants in Russia, with producer of kitchen counters and facades Slotex and Luzales being the buyers.
